The later ECMs also have a considerably different pinout, so they are a lot more trouble to swap in. You can dig up the connector diagrams if you'd like but using the 93- mass air ECM requires moving 2 or 3 wires. Using a 94-95 requires moving about half of the connector around. It can be done, but its far more trouble to keep track of. That, and the other inputs you don't currently have wiring for and may or may not be able to implement.

Essentially tricking it into working like a batchfire O2 using SEFI. Without this kind of modification, you risk having one bank lean out while the other is rich as hell.Last edited by 90ltd; 09-02-2013, 11:48 PM.“Cars are the only thing on earth that will beat you, break you, make you bleed, make you cry, spend all your money, spend all your time, not work and not care that you will love more, the more they abuse you.” -Anonymous

On the on the ho swap: right now I'm pretty close to gt output and explorer engine has the same torque so no go. One thing i noticed is that almost all parts add horsepower but not torque. __“Cars are the only thing on earth that will beat you, break you, make you bleed, make you cry, spend all your money, spend all your time, not work and not care that you will love more, the more they abuse you.” -Anonymous

If the stock ECM cannot be tuned for more injector, and I really have no clue of it's capabilities, its possible you might be able to tune one of the HO brains to run with a different firing order. If you can change the injector size and all the other stuff, why not the firing order?86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

The O2 sensors dont make a difference if you know injector order has been changed. Smaller or larger injectors can not be swapped with an ECM as its not the flow that is the issue with them not working. Atuner like the Tweecer there is a a app to change injectors, firing order, distance of O2 Sensors in case of long tube headers, change opening or closing of injectors, acclerator pump discharge squiter size, duration of squirt, A/F ratio WOT, load fuel maps, etc.
Over 500 or 600 things that can be changed wit ha piggly back tuner. I have 3 1" thick note books with all the info I could dig up. Not well oginized somer apps not completely figuured out. Spent 6 months compiling info figuring out what did what. Bottom line a carb is easyer cheeper to set up than a EFI system that dosent use a Wide Band O2 sensor. I would only go crazy with EFI again with a Hilborn individual TB set up.Scars are tatoos of the fearless
