Unless you are buying real shit caps they last longer than that. I have OEM caps in for years......

Not sure of the OEM source but I would try a Motorcraft cap and see how long it lasts. If your cooling system is intact (no warping around the area under the cap) and not a "lumpy" coolant system you should be fine!!
