I had an electric fan for a while. It didn't give me any fuel economy and it was noisy and problematic enough that I put the thermostatic clutch fan back on the car. maybe one that didn't suck 30 amps and make obnoxious noises wouldn't have annoyed me so much. The final straw was when the controller went TU, causing the thing to overheat at a drivethrough and blow a heater hose when I had no tools to fix it. That was quite annoying trying to put a hose back together in a spot my fat hands don't get into with only a dime for a tool to tighten the clamp.

You've got enough stop and go that I can understand marginal economy, especially with the tall gears. It really eats a lot of fuel accelerating with weak off-idle torque and tall gears.

Interesting sum up for me - I finally fixed my o2s so they are working properly...drove through a tank today mostly freeway...90-10 highway-streets and got almost 21 mpg. The route was a little more hilly than my past jaunts and mph has been the same 70-75. I was getting 18 with 25-30 psi in the tires and 18.5 with 35 in the tires. Now I have close to 40 in them. So I'm looking at a solid 2 mpg increase from working 02s which was pretty good for me. This is in my 5.0HO wagon with 3.08's in the rear and some performance stuff in the motor.
