the tag may very well be from 1989...1983 Grand Marquis 2Dr Sedan "Mercules"

that's prob just the engineering number for the trans......the other numbers prob tell you when it was installed if it was refistered......well you know the trans was replaced at one point lol

Yeah, Scott. The tranny came out of a 92 mustang with 50,325 original miles. The guy I got the tranny from converted to a T-5, and put the tranny on e-bay. Wife surprised me, and said she got a tranny for me, but that I had to pick it up. Guy lives 5 minutes from my job, so I took the service bus to get it. I figure either way, I got a low mileage tranny, with all the updates for $200.I've been told by a few people here, and on that "other" site, that the shift points will be a little higher than stock GM, but after driving the car for the past 8 months with only 1st, and 2nd gears, with a top speed of 45 mph, I'll probably never notice the difference.Originally posted by lincolnmania
