Quick question on dual exhaust conversion

My current stock exhaust has the single passenger side pipe... The end is held up with a rubber insulator that the tailpipe hooks into. Above that is a small bracket bolted into the frame with a peg that goes into the top of the insulator. My new tailpipes have the same hook at the end. I would like to support the driver's side pipe the same way but there is no provision for it on that side that in can see. My question is, is there some kind of aftermarket or even OEM bracket/mount I can get to copy the passenger's side? Will post pics momentarily.

The bracket isn't there since it wasn't a dual exhaust car. The usual way of getting around this short of finding an OEM piece is to use a common swing hanger and weld or bolt it to the frame above the clamp.

      for example

Alright, after some digging I can easily get the OEM bracket for the driver's side... Only problem now is that the mounting hole isn't threaded and I don't have a tap set. I'll probably end up going the swing hanger method as soon as I figure out the best way to secure it that won't put unnecessary strain on all new exhaust components.

When I did my duals, the drivers side mounting hole self tapped as I put the bolt in.
          I used all original stuff.

Thread forming bolts. Its not thick enough to properly tap anyway.

I'm gonna have to source out a new bolt then, the bracket kits don't come with one from what I've seen.

Large self-tapping screw will get the job done for you. Just have to figure out how big the hole is and get one slightly larger. Drill bits work well for gauges.

Hi BillFrank85 - how can you buy an OEM driver's side muffler bracket? I am looking up the part number online and can't find any site that sells it. If you or anyone else have a recommendation I would really appreciate it!

I have a 2001 Lincoln Town Car that had its exhaust ripped off when the air suspension failed and the exhaust got stuck on the road driving it home. Rather than buying a replacement single exhaust, would really love to switch it up to dual exhaust!

Thanks all; this is my first post!

Pretty much you'll have to go with a universal hanger/strap unless you find one in a junk yard and can remove it. The universal ones work just fine though.
