this is a duplicate of a post I made on cvn...
Hey guys!
I held off on announcing this publicly until I got a sample of his work, but a guy I met who lives nearby has a laser engraving/cutting machine. So I had this old logo I drew up in autocad when I had the tow truck but never got around to using. I decided it would make a nice test of his equipment.
Here is a picture of the complete plate, that will be put on the wagon. It look MUCH better in person. Since I didnt have my digital camera handy I just tossed it on the scanner and it came out black instead of mirrored. But trust me the fit and dinish is incredible.
He can cut any shape out of plastic you want to +/- .005" (5 thousandths on an inch) I will now try taking an 85mph speedo apart and making an overlay, he can cut 1/4 inch wood in elaborate shapes that will just slip together to make a super nice fitting console complete with pre"drilled" holes to put screws and swithches, gauges or whatever through. Led templates to put inside a taillight would be easy too.
As you can see I am a bit excited about this, and thought I would share. If anyone has anything they need cut, they can draw it up in cad or have someone else do it. I can then send it to him for a quote. (the liscense plate was only 20$ not bad for custom work.
