    What stall?

Im going to be buying a C-4 within the next week or so. Im trying to figure out what stall i should get. I dont want a real high stall since it is not a dedicated drag car.

About 300hp / 400 ft/lbs for now more to come
figure the car weighs about 3500-3600
3.55 rear gear, 2.4X first (same as a stock AOD)
    28" tall Drag radials
    stiff suspension.

Thinking something in the 2400-2800 range. dont need as high of stall as most due to the increase in power and lighter weight.

Anything up to 3K is still drivable. I had a 2200 in the old car and will prolly go with a 24-2600. With the C4 I'd go 2800...

3K, if I get another converter it will be 2800-3000, that will get you relly popping off the line.

Anything from 2,600 up to 3,000 should be okay, just make sure you are running a good tranny cooler.

I'm running a 2,600 stall speed in my LT1 Caprice, and with the 4.10 rear ratio (with LSD) that's about all a good set of sticky street tires can handle off the line.

Yeah, get a good cooler, the smaller converter won't hold as much fluid. Im keeping my converters stock.

              Emerald.

One of their 2,800's would be right in the ball park..

You might check out the below Ford Muscle Mag article (with pictures), they talk about the Emerald converter and performance gains.

They are installing it on a AOD tranny, but you can also get them for C4's.

Call up Morandon in Spring Hill: 727-944-3904

I found him on ebay when Scott was here. Called about a 2400 stall unit, he had one ready for pickup the next day when we stopped in. $110 out the door. Go to him for a converter, don't go anywhere else

RIP Jason P Harril, we'll miss ya bro

If you want your converter to flash at 2400-2800, then look at a 3200RPM advertised stall converter.

They cannot imagine how much I resent and disdain them, or just how great a threat they would face if I could get at them. Everything in their behavior speaks of insult and presumptuousness, and for now it is all I can do to make constructive use of my anger toward them. At this time, I just make a list of them and keep a watch on. Some day, with the help of time, space, and circumstance, I will be able to humiliate them properly - not in a manner they would enjoy, but in a style calculated to make them wish that they had never been born.

A "stall" convertor is a torque converter that locks up at a higher RPM than stock. It's the big donut looking thing that goes in the front of the trans, that gets bolted to the flexplate.

Why do you say that? Most converters I see are rated on 300HPish motors... isn't Duce pushing somewhere near that?

the only way you will see the advertised stall speed is if you are using a trans-brake. The flash stall is closer to what you will see while just using the brake pedal to hold the car.
