Corks from a wine bottle perhaps? Old fuel senders just had cork senders and they work fine. The ones on my boat are cork actually.

whoever can delete this can do so. i am going to the ford dealer and getting a float. Baby had a new fuel pump put in her before i got her, and the mechanic must have tossed the float. gonna have to get one so that i know how much gas is in her. i hope that they have the seal for the sending unit also. i pulled the gas tank after i pulled the sending unit. i pulled the gas tank to see if it was in the tank and knowing my luck it wasnt there. i hate tank straps. i thought about making a float from some copper tubing and end caps but the hardware store is closed so i couldnt get the things i needed. might as well just get the actual float since OReilley and Advanced dont carry floats. just to keep the fuel light off and not have to see it i hooked up the wires backward on the sending unit so that it reads oposite. full means empty and empty means full. since there isnt a float it reads full.

The whole float is actually gone? WTF.

Be careful re-installing that tank. Scott and I pulled the one from the Superlinc and it started leaking just from being disturbed.

well, i went and got a float. i think it is meant for EvilLTD though. the cost was $6.66. a little bit cheaper than i thought and they questioned if i only needed a float. i said yes because there wasnt one in the tank or on the sending unit. maybe i can put it in the car later if it stops raining since the roommates have crap in the garage and i cant get Baby in there. the garage is just deep enough for Baby or Vickie to get in and shut the door. all the other vehicles can get in and have room to walk. i need to get the roomies to get there crap out or i am putting it in the rain so i can use the garage as a garage.
