    Injector Filters

    Hi All,

Well, I did a search and i give up:

I recently purchased an Injector Rebuild kit with new O-rings, spacers, and screen filters, which are to be inserted into the top of each injector.
    (91 GM, 5.0 liter SEFI)

I was in a junkyard and I pulled off an injector from a '90 (basically the same car) and there was no filter in the top of the injector.

Are these little filters a '91 and after after production item?
If there are none in my car, should I install them anyway?

    Anybody familiar with these things?

    Thanks,
    91gmblack

Yes you should install them. I don't know why they wouldn't be in there already, but I don't have injectors that old either. However, if the injector is bad, none of that will fix a bad injector. Despite what it may have been labled as, it is not an injector rebuild kit. That is an injector installation kit. When you install injectors it is best to get new O-rings, and a new spacer. The screen is a nice thing to do as well, but most of the time, is very usless as the old screens will commonly have nothing in them anyways.
