    Exhaust opinions!

The next couple weeks I'm goin back to werk and I'm gettin a real exhaust for my car. I'm sort of torn on the mufflers I'll be using and the over all set up. I'm giving a few ideas and some sound clips and, please let me know what you guys think and offer any suggestions.

I'm going to be using Summit 5.0 shortie headers http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Pace setter off road X pipe, Its about the same $$ as an H pipe and I think they sound better.

For the tails I'll be using Impala SS 2.5in. My only question on them is, they dont go all the way to the bumper, they are short, do I get a really long tip to put on it? If so what length?

Now for the muffs, I love the sound of SLP's loud mouth, but it is very loud, which isnt a major concern. They also have the loud mouth II which is a lil quiter. But the fact that they are like glass packs and dont have the offset inlet/outlets to hook up to the tails, So is there any mid pipes that work for that sort of application or do I have to go to a shop and have em fabbed up. I'd like to save costs and find something that will work tho. http://videos.streetfire.net/search/...16CEC4AC50.htm

Next is flowmaster super 40's, I sorta dont like em as much as I used to but I think it would sound pretty nice. http://videos.streetfire.net/search/...040496A910.htm

I'm leaning twoards the LMII's but I figured I should run it by u guys first. I hate having my car sound like an tired demo derby car. It sounds ok, but it isnt what I'm looking for. What do you guys suggest?

I would go with whatever's cheapest and doesn't sound ricey (yes, I have heard 5.0s that sound like 4 cylinders aren't working.) I get whatever is cheapest, but that's just me. Magnaflow and Borla mufflers sound awesome, but they're a little expensive.

I dont really care how much it is, as long as it sounds good. I wasted round 300 on my current exhaust that sounds like shit and prolly flows worse.

I would go with the SLP's. Those are going to be my next mufflers. They sound great.

The loudmouths are a straight-through design, yes?
I'd recommend running a chambered muffler. They sound more toned and provide better backpressure.

I'm running an X-Pipe after the four factory cats, Flowmaster "original" 40-Series mufflers (#42443), Impala SS tail pipes and Marauder exhaust tips. I LOVE the look and sound of it. It's not too obnoxious, but you can tell there's an exhaust on the car. I'll be doing headers and high-flow cats soon. I hope it isn't too loud (I DON'T want any trouble from the Police).

My 2.5" exhaust is BBK headers, 2.5" cats, X-pipe, Edelborkc RPM mufflers, and Impy tails.

Check out the link in my sig for the wagon exhuast. The old 87 had 2.5" exhaust with an H-pipe and custom 2.5" tails. That's also in the vids....

My next mufflers will be either Dynomax Race Bullets, or Flowmaster Delta 50's Most likely the Deltas.

I think I need new cats, my mileage is decreasing. Flowmaster Super 40's are the cheapest Flowmasters you can get, I think. They sound really good, very low.

You can use either a long tip, or an extension and a tip. I have those small cheapie downturns and about 15" of pipe to make mine work. They're 18" extensions with a few inches cut off at any rate. Exact length will vary depending on the tips you use.

I like the sound of the SLP mufflers, but Im cheap so Id rather find a pair of dynomax bullets.

I have some BBK chrome or ceramic (can't tell with 'em on the car, pulling 'em today) shorties I'll sell you for $100 and shipping. They look solid. Some slight oxidation, but they still function fine.
