Unless you're running substantially more cam than stock, you don't need 24 lb injectors. The a9p, Mark VIII MAF and 24 lb will mostly work, but it will quite possibly still need a tune.

I plan on putting in a set of 24lb injectors and converting to MAF...
I plan to buy the MAF ECM from N A...
but I hear that Mark VIII's have 24lb injectors and MAF.
so, here's the big Q:
can I put in N A's MAF ECM(A9P), 24lb injectors, the MAF meter/sensor from a Mark VIII and have everything in balance?
Not that this makes a goddamn bit of difference....

I doubt it. The harness pigtail is probably diferent, and the number of pins may also be different. You need to do some more serious research.
What is the size of a MarkVIII MAF sensor?
Why aren't you just running a Mustang MAF sensor and 19# injectors?

Look guys, I just don't want to have to spend a lot of money on a tuning device. I also don't want to have to learn how to tune. I also would like to not have to tune everytime I get a wild hair. Mass air just makes life easier.
It leaves the door unlocked for future mods. I can swap the intake/tb/heads without worrying about running lean. (within the spec of the injectors and MAF meter)
SD runs a little on the rich side. Converting to MAF can get you 2-3 mpg. I hear gas will get to/over $4 by the year's end. Every little helps.
Sure, you may be able to make more power with SD, but I'm looking for efficient power and ease of use with no hassles on my future mod plans.Project \"Fire and Ice\":

Converting to MAF on a stock engine does not make it run any better or more efficient.
Also, adding more air flow to an engine (better heads, larger T/B) on a stock or near stock application does NOT require you re-tune the engine. the stock ECM (SD or MAF) is adaptible enough to compensate for those changes, as long as the air flow reading is correct (MAP or MAF) the 02 sensors read correctly and there are no Vaccum leaks. the ECM will constantly adjust to reach 14.7:1 air/fuel ratio.
the only time you need to tune the ECM calibration is when you have entered in a factor the stock programming cannot accomodate, like larger than stock MAF,bigger fuel injectors or more displacement.2003 Town Car Signature - 3.27 RAR, Dual exhaust and J-mod - SOLD 9/2011

So you're saying that SD has about the same window to mod in as MAF?Project \"Fire and Ice\":

Dude! I'm paying attention! I was the one with the question!
Ever since I joined here, I have been led to believe that SD had no flexibility whatsoever without tuning. Everything in stone and shit, right?
Now you come along and rock my panther boat with your talk of easy SD modding! I was thinking about it all day! I couldn't wait to get home and read the responses in this thread.
Fuck it...you don't get anymore questions. :yuck: I'm going MAF!Last edited by Roach III; 07-25-2006, 08:29 PM.Project \"Fire and Ice\":
