And I don't think anyone should bitch about gas prices unless they're paying more than this guy

At any rate, the best I think I ever got in either of my box Panthers was 23 on a long highway run.
The grille changed from the waffle to the waterfall. Obviously the waterfall is significantly less aerodynamic.

Real answer: NFC. same driveline, about all thats really different is some cosmetic stuff, none of which should account for any significant amount of weight. I suspect the way they calculate fuel economy reporting changed more than the car but I don't know how to verify that. 24 is a lot more realistic than 27. The 87 that had that window sticker was a fully loaded model with a 3.55 rear, and that ought to do worse on the highway than the standard 3.08 or 3.27 rear.

is it possible that the newer more realistic EPA figures were only updated back to 1988?

First off, Dereck I’m sorry $4 sounds great compared to 8.60 that’s just retarded... Second I have all the parts to do a MAF conversion on my Lincoln with a 92 mustang gt, besides changing the firing order will I need the bigger injectors? Even though mines not a HO engine?
Are there any other Areo mods that can be done?
And I know why they changed the rating I read about it two days ago. They said that when tests were done to gauge MPG they were done in almost perfect indoor conditions with perfect driving techniques. When the public drove these cars they saw a substantial decrease in actual MPG so they dropped the test MPG by 15-20% to accommodate the public’s actual driving habits.

my parents and i rented a new grand marquis in 1989, it had 900 miles on it.......we got 29 mpg highway and around 19 city
ran the towny (it was stock then) in 2001 to cape cod, fully loaded, 4 of us, packed to the gills for a camping trip at a rental cabin. we got 26 mpg.

the ethanol is killing fuel economy......my suggestion search out ethanol free fuel, keep your tires fully inflated, stay out of the throttle, do not drive with one foot on the brake and one foot on the gas (i've seen plenty of people do this) synthetic fluids, properly tuned, no bad wheel bearings, drive like a little old lady basically.

1986 lincoln towncar signature series. 5.0 HO with thumper performance ported e7 heads, 1.7 roller rockers, warm air intake, 65mm throttle body, 1/2" intake spacer, ported intakes, 3.73 rear with trac lock, 98-02 front brake conversion, 92-97 rear disc conversion, 1" rear swaybar, 1 3/16" front swaybar, 16" wheels and tires, loud ass stereo system, badass cb, best time to date 15.94 at 87 mph. lots of mods in the works 221.8 rwhp 278 rwt
2006 Lincoln Town Car Signature. Stock for now
1989 Ford F-250 4x4 much much more to come, sefi converted so far.
1986 Toyota pickup with LSC wheels and 225/60/16 tires.
2008 Hyundai Elantra future Revcon toad
1987 TriBurner and 1986 Alaska stokers keeping me warm. (and some pesky oil heat)

please be patient, rebuilding an empire!

In some states and provinces, premium fuel is still ethanol free. I've found I get more than my money back by going to 91 octane (or 93-4 if available) and bumping the timing up a smidge. big fuel economy gains and in carbed setups will reduce evaporation.

You're gonna have to change the cam... repinning fuel injector harness sucks, plus that fucks with how the computer can change the fuel trim. While the top of the engine is off do different heads, and injectors.
