sucks not even worth putting that manifold on such a gutless and pitiful system.

          Sorry for this....

How does the CFI system operate? Is it like the usual TBI systems out there where you have two large injectors?

Yes Packman it's Ford's version of TBI. Ford just call's it central fuel injection instead of throttle body fuel injection. It has 2 large injectors.

The Performer intake would definetely help. I would make sure to turn the fuel pressure up to compensate for the extra airflow.

I thought about doing this upgrade when I changed intake gaskets but decided not to because I didn't want to risk the Performer intake being too tall and having the air cleaner not clear the hood. Also you would have to readjust the TV pressure because the TV rod would be sitting higher than before. I just didn't want to take the extra time to figure it all out.

It would be interesting to see if the Performer fits with no problems...

If you're gonna go to the trouble of putting a new intake on, i'd upgrade the cam/heads/headers to really make a difference. Someone with more knowledge than I can direct you in that regard, Ford TBI is not my area.

I think, in theory, that manifold should be worth more performance. The question is more whether the system can adjust for the increased flow. I do recall Leo having one running like that, but I don't remember if it ran right or ran any stronger than stock. Conventional wisdom is that CFI does NOT play well with cams, heads, etc. More flow just isn't something the system can adjust for.

I just searched all the threads started by Leo... There's one thread that he started, asking questions about installing a Performer intake, and there was no mention that it was ever installed. No pictures, nothing... http://www.grandmarq.net/vb/showthre...Q-s&highlight=
