    351w power

So I have completed my car. The 351w swap is finished and is backed with a 2800stall modded c4. I was wondering how much power y'all think I may have.
    Specs:
    -351w with 9.8:1 compression
    -stock intake/exhaust valves (1.78/1.54) 68cc heads
    -lunati voodoo cam http://www.jegs.com/i/Lunati/638/610...oductId=756547
-shorty headers to 2.5" dual exhaust, H-pipe, and 50 series 3 chamber mufflers
    -electric taurus fan
    -85 van HO intake/ Holley 600cfm carb
    -no smog or A/C

I'm hoping for at least around 230hp and 320tq. I will post videos soon of it. Thanks.

I'd be pretty comfortable claiming 250hp from that setup. Your torque guess sounds reasonable too.

Okay, thank you. I'm hoping I can play with the mustangs near me and at the track. Will a RPM-Airgap manifold make a big difference? I wanted 300hp, but I'm not quite sure how to. I'll post videos as soon as I can get her to the track.

A good set of heads and intake will make a big difference. Roller rockers help a little to.

What he said. The heads and intake are holding you back significantly. If you want to keep up with cars that are about 500 lbs lighter, you're gonna need more airflow than stock iron will give.

How do you like the lunati voodoo cam? What they claim it can do sounds great, but i haven't heard much about them. What pistons did you use to bump the compression up? That's quite a bump...stock is around 8.3ish if i recall correctly.

I was wrong about those heads, I gave the specs for the ones I had. I found d0oE heads and their intake/exhaust is 1.84/1.54 and are 60cc.
The pistons are the original 72 dished pistons. They looked very good and the cylinder walls were fine.
I like the cam a lot, it's like an RV cam with a bit of top end to it. I had it to 5200 rpm, which may be pushing it a lot, but was definitely fun. The idle is smooth with a little extra sound.
Will those heads change hp and tq? I was told that it should be right at 9.8 with those heads; I believe it was 10.5 originally, so I figured time and wear has dropped that a bit.
I think I will get the RPM-airgap then and some 1.6 roller rockers soon. Maybe then I will be at my 300hp goal.

Its doubtful you'll get near the 300 mark with those heads without forced induction or spray.

I absolutely agree that on a 351W stock heads are the biggest restriction. If you've at all got the money, don't even look at GT40s. Aftermarket heads, 170CC at a minimum. My next big ticket item will be Trick Flow 205CC heads.

Agreed. You already have the bottom end built. So now you can slowly save up the clams for a decent top end package. I imagine that what you got now must be fun to drive.

Just to help the discussion along,

What do you have for a trans/converter setup? Performance heads will see BIG gains from a more aggressive converter (even a Supercoupe converter or something else mild) and you've already got a high-winding enough setup that a stock panther governor will be shifting at too low an RPM.

                        edit
i actually put 213 to the wheels

Yeah a set of heads would do that combo wonders.

Well that's a bummer, heads are not cheap. But I will work to it, and my 250ish is waaaayyyy more than the cfi 302; and the torque is so much fun that when I hit it from a 15 roll I get a smile across my face from the tire spinning. The transmission is actually an 83 C5, but it is aluminum and has all TCI C4 goodies in it, which is good for about 450hp. The stall is a 2800, but I can slowly get it to catch at about 2300. Biggest thing needed now is a Posi with 3.55 gears to get moving faster.
