    Throttle Body Lever

    How do you guys/gals go about taking our stock throttle body lever apart? I see that it has a smooshed rivet thing that holds the lever onto the shaft. I have a few grinding bits, but they're coned shape. I guess if I am careful, I can grind the material enough to get the lever off of the shaft. I figured I would ask first before grinding/cutting. Thank you

    grinding. then tack weld back the new one or tap the shaft and bolt it on.

      I just need to get the lever off so I can switch out the Mustang lever which has the throttle body cable towards the back rather then the front where the Panther TB cable is located.

        He knows. That is the way it is done. Grind down the rivet then tack the new one on.

          I forgot to mention that I will be swapping the Panther TB lever into an aftermarket TB for a Mustang. The aftermarket unit is bolted in; so no welding required (at least I don't think there is). Thanks guys

            nice. oh... best way to use those conical tips is the "flat side" to grind the stuff smooth. which reminds me... I need to get more supplies for my dremel.

              die grinders work much more better than dremel tools for this. With care, a grinding wheel on an angle grinder does fine too. Just grind down the mushroom until its not a 'shroom anymore but don't grind through the lever.
