Curious about the effects of installing W/R gears in the AOD and a 3.55L

I currently have a stock AOD and HO out of a 89 MK 7 in the 1991 GM. I wonder how different acceleration will be if I swap in the W/R gear set and swap the 2.73 open out to a 3.55 locking rear axle? Will the gas mileage be better in city driving which I mostly do? How much quicker in the quarter mile after the swap?
What would be estimated 1/4 mile times for a stock LOPO 91 GM and for a HO equipped 91 GM? Just curious.

    Thank you,
    Mike

The gas mileage should be a bit better in the city. The gears alone will make the biggest difference.

Stock lopo runs high 18's to low 17's, an HO high 16's to mid 15's. There are so many factors to take into account but those are averagish numbers if all is somewhat well.

rear gears for sure... the WR helps a little, but not much. And without changing the valvebody with one designed to work with the WR gears, you'll be shifting weird. I know this for a fact as I daily drive a lopo with an AOD-WR daily.

Put the new gears in first and see what you think. I have 4.10's in mine which are fun, but I probably should have put 3.73's in. The WR + 3.55 might be nice.

WR + 3.55 is nice. my car is actually more drivable now too. Less wonky shifting. (just installed 3.55L behind my WR AOD)
