Hello again gents, the H.O. town car is now running stupendously but I crave handling... or something that resembles it. I know that is a tall order on a barge but I was thinking a rear sway bar could help. Anyone know if theres a bolt on rear sway bar kit for a 1986 Town Car? I am also wondering if there's an easy bolt on for a front sway bar upgrade (thicker bar). I know the police models have better ones but thats pretty much unobtanium these days

Addco 324 is supposed to be a bolt on kit. The mounting is kinda shit though. No other aftermarket options exist as far as I know.
IIRC later model panther front sway bars fit on boxes, but someone needs to verify that.
I recently installed a fox/sn95 rear sway bar in mine, but it required fabbing some simple plates.

The later bars can fit if the frames have the mounting points (horizontal plate for the links to bolt into), BUT the mount on box frames is too thin to support it long term and needs some more metal added to it to beef it up. I don't remember if all years have it, or just roundy box (88-91), or some other year split. You can always add the plates if they're not there if you are or you know a good welder/fabricator.
You will need to finagle the axle mounts on the newer bars as well. I don't remember if these are bolt on or weld on mounts.

Thats cool Arquemann, I looked at your thread and it was really neat. Is there any way you could send me the dimensions for the plates? I'm interested in taking up the project.
