    TC power steering pump leaking, again???

    My Town cars steering has began moaning again today. I replace the steering pump and high pressure hose last summer. A new steering box about 2 years ago.

    What could it be? I hope to find an 02 PI steering box to put on it. I have a 03 remote steering pump ready for it along with a reservoir and cooler for it.
    plans are to use braided lines.

    maybe the system has to be re-bled...what kinda pump you got? new or a re-man? and where did you buy it from?

      Has it been run low or dry?

      Power steering leaks are common. How are all the hoses, etc?

        Did you replace the low pressure line? They tend to turn to rock and leak around the clamps. Its simple bulk trans cooler line. Do not try to pull it off the pump, slice it off and install new. Pulling it off will likely snap the fitting off the tank.

        Other leak points in the system, the pump front seal, the pump to tank O ring, the input and output shafts on the steering gear, and the pressure regulator where the high pressure hose threads in. It leaks between the regulator and the pump body.

          Only hose that was not replaced is the low press hose. I am waiting till warmer weather for that and also to install the cooler.
