    2004 Rear Disk Brakes

I've searched and I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Can I use the 2004 CV backing plates, etc to convert my rear to disk brakes? Or is the '03+ rear totally different? I've seen that the '92-'97 work, but are the newer rears the same as well?

I have the '04 CV parts car, and seeing as I'm going to be swapping rears, I thought it might be nice to add disk brakes.

    Thanks guys.

as long as you can measure the bolt to bolt spacing on the backing plate to compare, you should be able to find out fairly easily if it will bolt up or not. The other thing is the offset involved, not sure if the older style wheels will fit up with new brakes.

That's a thought. Stock wheels probably won't be a big problem, but the Ansens and 275s will probably be pretty questionable.

this was talked about several years ago, when the 03-04 cars were already out. my contacts inside ford say the 03+ rear brakes are not a simple bolt on an older rear end. its probably not impossible, but not sure the effort is worth the minimal improvement you might get over 92-97 rear disc.
03+ rear end assembly will NOT bolt into a 97 and older car with out lots of cutting and welding.
