    Brake prob

The brakes in my merc arent working to well lately, you relly have to push the pedal to get it to stop in a decent distance, also if im sitting at a lite afeter say 50 seconds the car will try to creep away and i have to push the pedal harder,
today i had to stop fast beacuas some one decided to slam on ther brakes at the last min to turn, and my brakes dident even lock up even tho i was pushing full force on the pedal,
the pads rotors and drums are all in good condition, no scores or anything on the rotors and lots of meat left on the pads,
could it have something to do with the master cylinder or booster? or maybie the calipers?

That sounds like my brakes. When I get my oil changed i'm gonna have my brakes bled too to see if that helps, maybe have them check the wheel cylinders. If they do that ad it still sucks at breaking, i'll replace the master cylinder and go from there.

Does you car make any squeaks or noises when you hit the brakes hard? Mine doesn't.

you're losing pressure somewhere, either an internal leak in the MC, or an external leak from a line or wheel cyl. The creeping at stop lights is the key. See if the booster between the MC and the booster is wet looking. If it is, the MC is fried. Replace it and the booster together, any fluid in the booster will kill it, and you can't get a warranty on a booster without doing the MC at the same time.

the reservior was a bit low, but not relly that low, the master looks fairly new but that dosent mean anything, the rear wheel cylinders where new but ill check them, and all the flex hoses ect.. ect

Master cylinder again, only internal leak - had that same issue in the townie, not as bad as you but it was noticeable, replaced the m/c and life is good. Also with the 4x4 the F350 m/c I installed a week ago was bad like that too, it would not build up pressure unless I spike on the brakes, the Chevy m/c I was using before that as well as the new F250 m/c don't have that issue.

Well I just had the calipers on my truck replaced (under warranty) and it stops fine now. The bleeders on the old ones has siezed up for some reason, so the shop replaced them and it stops fine. So i'd suggest trying to bleed the brakes, that might solve the problem.

Bleeding is truly a great thing - you have no idea how shitty pedal feel my diesel has now, all cause the previous owner never bled the RABS - once I'm near the floor the damn thing almost throws me through the windshield (which is how it should be), but till then tis reeeal soft and spongy... will be taken care of tomorrow evening of course.

RABS...I'm assuming the "ABS" part is Anti-Lock Brakes, but what does the "R" stand for?

Rear ABS, pretty rudimentary, but apparently gets the job done. Just bled the thing, not much of an improvement. Tried cracking the rear bleeders open, didn't happen, so I bet I got some air in there too. Will pull drums soon and replace wheel cylinders, but for now tis good, I just gotta press the pedal more.
