    Good front rotors/brake pads

My paychecks come in this Thursday and the first things I will be ordering are some new front brake pads and rotors. Any recommendations for which brand I should get? I'll probably be ordering them off of Rockauto unless I can find a good deal somewhere else.

I like the centric/stoptech pads. Have them on my BMW.

Centrics' better rotors have been good to me so far.

Some Italian rotors if you're feeling lucky http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-Qualitee...570e32&vxp=mtr

Power Slots are considered good quality and coated: http://www.ebay.com/itm/FRONT-LEFT-R...71f446&vxp=mtr

Pads, I see Raybestos Professionals for less than $20 on Rock. They're so cheap overall I usually just wing it.

Get new bushings for your calipers, something like RAYBESTOS Part # H55492, and I suggest on 20+ year old cars also changing the rubber line from the frame to the caliper, like RAYBESTOS Part # BH36936 & RAYBESTOS Part # BH36935 (great deal!)

And a good time to repack or replace wheel bearings. At least get the seals from Rock, it's a parts-store-may-scalp-you item. Maybe flush the old brake fluid from the front lines too.

      Enjoy! Brakes are fun

I've had the same Performance Frictions on my car since 2006, some 60k miles ago. Still over 50% pad left, not noisy or dusty and they stop well. No idea what the rotors are. Maybe McQuay-Norris, but I won't swear to that. Came from Pep Boys in '06. I think I've got Bendix on the front of the Mark VII with totally unknown USA-made rotors. Mark VII brakes are essentially identical to stock box brakes, other than the rotor offset. Same caliper, pads and rotor dimensions. No complaints, though no idea if they are dust makers or not. The rims are so shitty on that thing that I just can't tell, nor do I bother to actually look at them.
