I've starting buying new, but old aftermarket replacement parts as needed from eBay. Not always available, but some of the more common stuff is on there and you can scope out a made in USA label sometimes. Especially on suspension stuff.

sad when you have to buy old parts in dusty packages just to get stuff that works. There are reasons I'm starting to hoard parts and rebuild kits for my parts. I figure if some clown is going to overhaul something, it may as well be me. At least when it doesn't work it doesn't cost me much.

Thain that is why I have at least 12 sets of complete tune up parts for my Studebaker. Yes new points and conds are available, but for me, why take the chance? Also picked up three new sets of Champion J-12Y plugs and UJ-12Y plugs..........all old stock in the Champion boxes..........on e-bay.
I am also always on the lookout for original front pads, GDB-704, with asbestos!.......the new 704s are crap and do not stop worth a damn.
