I'm setting up a power dimming mirror w/ a compass in project 89 ( which I will have picks of her soon) has anyone done this and if u have can u assist with what wires are what. So I can get started on it. I have 2 harnesses 1 w/3wires and the othe has 5 wires . Thanks for any help. I'm going to talk to a friend at the steelership see if he can help with a wiring diagram.

well after some looking and and hr of good reading last light i found some great diagrams so im going to share so if any one wants to do this you can see how easy it is to do i had in , wired and working in less then 30min, i had cleaned the window real well and adhearded the newer style mounting tab a couple days ago to give it goo time to set up , i also wired in my radar detector and ran it threw the same wire loom on the window, well ill shut up and get to the pics

here are the pics install and lit and recalibraited, and doing that is easy hold the compass button for 6 sec till u see a c in the corner then drive in circles less then 5mph till u get a direction on it (about 15-30 seconds)

Nice. I've been wanting to do that swap for a while. Beat me to the suggestion, if you search autodimming mirror crown victoria on google images, you'll get drocks or steves83bronco superford page chock full of the info you where looking for.

You can get the same mirror from some Chevy Products. The trailblazers have that mirror and they also have a temperature display as well. All you'd need would be the temp sensor and you're set. I bought mine off of ebay. It came with the mirror, the harness, and the temp sensor. And it uses a set screw instead of that clip on bs the newer crown vic mirrors use.Comment

They are very easy to wire in. After getting my first one I went back and got one from a VUE with the temperature as well. I've seen them with map lights too but those have a lot more wires for the battery, door switch etc.
and +1 on the screw type, the spring clip kind always take chunks of glass with them1985 LTD Crown Victoria - Currently restoring after she caught fire!
