    91 Mercury Airbag Code 6`

My 91 Colony Park was throwing airbag code 6.

So I installed a new clock spring from Ford. (Disconnected battery. Hit brake pedal, turned headlights on, etc). Removed airbag. Removed steering wheel. And replaced.

Reinstalled and still has code 6. So went ahead and put car back together so I can drive it.

What should my next step be?

I had those problems with my Mark VII. Same thing, replaced the clock spring, then I replaced the bomb, did all the diag work, and everything checked out fine. I rebuilt the bomb control module and it stopped being stupid. All of the capacitors in the bomb controller were leaky.

Leaky capacitors in the airbag controller. Nice. Will remove and investigate one of these days. Thanks!

there aren't many in there. I want to say its a half dozen or something. Not a particularly involved repair.
