my starter solenoid would not work when i start car but if i jump it starts and the starter would keep spining.so i bought a motorcraft solenoid and car starts and problem with starter spining followed. i unhooked starter wire lead from solenoid after i jumped it and starter kept spining.is my start shot or is there a electrical problem some where im not seeing.

the starter may be drawing excessive current and welding the contacts in the solenoid shut. check the connections to the starter and the wire along the way to make sure it's all good. If it is, you either got a bum solenoid or the starter is going out or your battery dropped a cell (lower voltage requires more current to do the same work).
