I did once have problems with the inertia switch in the trunk, but it was actually the connector for it. The switch was fine, the plug melted and killed the fuel pump. Found it by accident when I went to replace the switch. Of course it shit out on me driving to Scottfest one year. I stopped for a beverage, no worky-worky when I went to leave.

all of you hit the note on the head. Ive replaced the fuel switch in the trunk, put a new crank switch on it. she is not getting any spark i have went through and tested that. the ecu relay has been replaced.
I am about out of ideas. i just got the computer in today and the bolt hodling my wiring harness on is just spinning inside the computer. nothing on this car is going easy.1979 lincoln versailis, ford test ordered car, factory floor shift with bucket seats.

Try pulling on the ECM harness connector while trying to unscrew the retaining bolt. They're always kind of a bitch to do anyways, never feel quite right even when they're moving like they're supposed to.The ones who accomplish true greatness, are the foolish who keep pressing onward.
The ones who accomplish nothing, are the wise who know when to quit.

If the ECU relay doesn't kick on with the key, it sounds like lack of power somewhere between the battery and the relay coil. That one runs through the key switch, and involves some number of connectors. Might be worth trying to hot wire the ECM relay to see if it lights off. That would at least isolate it to one circuit. Jump the two fat wires on the ECM relay, same as you did for the fuel pump and see what happens.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).
