    Box hubcap center cap "repair"

The center caps for my hubcaps on my 87 are all broken. The brackets popped off one by one over time from removing them to take the hubcaps off. I have another box full of them that are also broken (spares.. not from me).

None of these are in great shape so I'm just looking for a way to put them back together to use them.

My guess is the right way to do it would be to tack a weld on them but I don't own or have access to a welder.

Any suggestions on what would hold? My stupid thought is maybe using some JB weld or something but not sure how well that would really hold.

    Thanks in advance!

I'm guessing you're talking about the wire caps.

I've been just slamming the hubcaps onto the wheels, no bother bolting them on. Haven't needed to take off the center caps since 2020. I don't think the theft of hub caps is particularly prevalent anymore.
Maybe take that into consideration in the strength of your fix. I'd say to find someone to give them a tack weld, but dunno what kinda pot metal they're made of.
Or use a strong metal epoxy, but that probably won't hold well if you're taking them on and off repeatedly.

Very easy fix! Drill an 1/8 hole and put a rivet in it. You could even use a short screw. WagonMan

Ive never had any hubcaps, nore do I know how these particular ones work. Any pictures as I am curious and would like to help. I am sure I can help you out if any of the above options do not work for you. I just need to have an idea of how this all functions.

Maroon center cap for wire wheel covers. Spring clips pop off the chrome backing. Plenty of room to drill a 1/8" hole and rivet the spring clip back on. WagonMan

Have you tried any fixes for the delaminating emblems? Is the lens/ clear cover removable without destructive measures?

That looks like a great fix for that problem.

Just wanted to give a follow up that the drill out and pop rivet fix worked great. I was able to repair all my center caps and my spares with it.

                    Thanks again!

Also, during one, I accidentally went a little too far and popped the emblem out of the front. I put it back with a generous amount of clear silicone RTV.. Seemed to work okay. I guess the original glue on that one was on it's way out because it came off pretty easily from pushing from the back.
