Box Grand Marquis Trunk Lip Molding Trim Clips

When removing my trunk trim to do some rust repair, all but two of the molding trim clip's little springs snapped off on me. They're technically I guess still usable without the spring, but it's a nightmare trying to line them up and bolt the thing back on.

I tried searching eBay and the closest I found were these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/197116215779

But they're a little bigger than the ones I took off.

Here's an example of one that didn't break:

Any idea where to buy them or ideas on making the ones without the spring stay in place? I was thinking to just put a dab of RTV or glue or something just to hold them in place so I can start threading them... but ideally, new ones would probably be better.

    Thanks!

You gotta have the little spring. I went through this on the wagon. They just don't work well without it.

You can usually run a slightly wider clip if needed.

I ended up sourcing some clips from https://www.amkproducts.com/bulk-fas...forlookup=8220. I also sourced some NOS others from Green Sales Company. I'll try to get you a part number in the morning.

The original part number is E0MY-5442533-B. Green Sales has the part if you want the exact clip. They usually get $2 a clip but I think there is a minimum order of $20, plus shipping. They are old school and you have to call to order.

The aftermarket wider ones will likely do the job.

I received the package from Green Sales today...

Unfortunately, the part number must have not been correct. The clips came with the E0MY-5442533-B part number but they're the wrong ones. The threaded part is the right size and I thought maybe I could work them in a way that would work but no. It doesn't look like these will work at all. Bummer.

This is what these clips look like:

I'm going to try ordering the ones from eBay and drill out larger holes in the deck lid.

Btw, anyone know what trim these clips are to?

The master parts catalog lied to me! I apologize. That is a very unique clip.
