Due to the continued snow storms the car has been buried under snow for six weeks...............today I checked on the car as the temps actually reached 70 degrees............the tire is still holding air............so I guess I can "assume" the plug will hold As to actually driving the car I hope all will be well as I will not be doing any high speed driving...........usually between 55-60MPH. Should I consider just replacing the tire for long term peace of mind??
I'll be the contrarian voice of reason...do you REALLY want to trust your car and your safety to a set of MAYPOPs?

Pony up for a matched set at least on the one axle if all four aren't in the fiscal mix right now...I would say five, but so few actually do the five-wheel rotation anymore.

Absolutely no need to replace all the tires just because one had to have a patch- especially if they're already matching and under ten years of age. I was doing 110 - 115mph for a good long while in my Firebird on a tire with a plug in it. Those tires are still on the car and are now about 24 years old. Yep, they're garbage and coming off this year, but the point is that a plug isn't the problem.

I have been using tires with plugs and patches for my whole life. If it holds air and is in the tread it never gave me a problem. I never had problems with sidewall patches either but no shop is allowed to do those these days due to insurance restrictions. .

The tires have less than 500 miles on them, three years old

Since none of us did the repair, we can not attest to it but I wouldn't overthink it. If done correctly, you'll be fine. There should NOT be the need to replace the tires with the mileage and manufacturing date as stated (assuming there were not sitting on a shelf too long before you bought them - check the date codes on them).

See, now that was a fact not properly adduced at trial

That said, I'd have it on the rear just out of an abundance of caution...steering with a sudden front flat is no fun.

I'd be filling my trousers as well if I had to drive the GSP without constant lights!
