I just got my new tank and i got an 18 gallon one and I had a 16 gallon one do I need new straps? If so which ones the wagon ones? Where can I get these?

i dident know they had to differnt size tanks, unless u got a waggin tank in whitch case it wont fit, when i orderd a new tank for my old 84 2 dr they gave me a waggin tank, so i tryed it anyways and wouldent fit right at all, had to take it back and got the propper tank, -
Yeah, the wagon and sedan tanks are quite different. I'd not heard of a 16 gallon tank .... just in my experience, I replaced a 18 gallon SEFI tank with a 20 gallon carb'd tank in the '87 wagon and reused the straps, the only problem being getting the dang bolts back in (which was also a problem when doing a direct replacement on my old '79).2012 Mazda5 Touring | Finally working on the LTD again!

tanks are always a bastard to get back in. I had to loosen the studs on the frame to get enough for the nut to grab onto.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

yea those straps are a pita
1986 lincoln towncar signature series. 5.0 HO with thumper performance ported e7 heads, 1.7 roller rockers, warm air intake, 65mm throttle body, 1/2" intake spacer, ported intakes, 3.73 rear with trac lock, 98-02 front brake conversion, 92-97 rear disc conversion, 1" rear swaybar, 1 3/16" front swaybar, 16" wheels and tires, loud ass stereo system, badass cb, best time to date 15.94 at 87 mph. lots of mods in the works 221.8 rwhp 278 rwt
