    Saved a Falcon today

    So my buddy is a Ford guy too. His oldest daughter is 11.
    She got her first car today. We saved it from it's demise through neglect.
    She "backed" it off the trailer, then helped with a comet cleanser scrub.
    Enjoy.

    That thing looks pretty clean for sitting for who knows how long. Kinda looks like how my F150 started out. Going to be a stock rebuild??
    These are highly engineered precision vehicles, the first step in diagnosing the problem is to strike the suspected offending part sharply and repeatedly with a blunt object, then re-test.

      Oh wow 1992 on the inspection? That one has been stationary a while!
      Being a classic Ford, now is when I must ask if it still has floors?

            Not sure of his plans. It's a 170 with a C4, and I've got a bone stock complete running '73 302 if he wants it.

              I couldn't believe it, but the interior is decent and the carpet was dry. I looked under the car and the floors still have the factory undercoating in place. Even the cowl floor appears to be unphased.
              He bought it from the original owner, an 84 year old woman. Her husband put it on the concrete pad beside their home on jack stands in 1999 before he passed.
              The body lines are very straight and the doors close perfectly with a thud. The major fixes the car needs are pretty easy. A trip to Ford Carlisle in the spring will solve most of the issues.

                It's a 1968 Ford Falcon base model. Still had the owners manual and warranty in the glove box.

                    To do it right? Probably 2 years at most.

                      That is a nice 69 Falcon. Very hard to find now. My favorite is the 68 which is almost identical. I remember them new. Good luck finding a fender. How is the inside of trunk area ? Rust was the killer of many of them. Gas tanks liked to come loose and fall too. Nice to see the 6 cylinder motor. I saw the sagging foam type headliner. You might change it to a fabric bow type.
