Glad you guys like the pics. Gonna have to get some daylight pics soon. It reduces the "porno red" effect, and the blemishes are not so noticeable. The carpet is original. If you look closely at the back seat pic, you'll see it's torn right where it goes over the driveshaft hump. The car is clean for it's age. I ran a carfax on it last year, and the original owner was government, and put on 80k in uder 2 years. Must have been some sort of transport vehicle. I think the seats are comfy, I used to go same-day round-trip from Indy to Detroit and back, and from Chicago to Indy or Detroit and back all the time. I can't make it past an hour in the Fusion, and my Mark VIII kills my backside in about a half-hour. The header panel and one fender are not new, so maybe the car was hit before.

i remember in the mid 90's seeing rows and rows of nyc box taxis with bucket seats, but they were all nasty ripped stinky tan vinyl

Funny, especially since Mk. VIII seats are often all fancy and stuff with eight-way power and power lumbar supports. But yeah, yours in the Vic are extremely nice despite their lack of features (no recline even, guys!) and utilitarian appearance. I'm pretty bummed that they're so hard to find these days, else I might have a set just like 'em. I wonder why police departments didn't like the things?

Yeah, that's what I thought. Aside from when the car was stored from around 1998 to 2003, I put over 40k a year on it as well. Thankfully, mostly highway miles on straight, smooth interstate.

Sometimes the simpler, the better. Remember those SSEi Bonnevilles with the insane amount of seat adjustments? Impossible to get comfy, too many ways to adjust the darn things. I know of an El Camino with Ford Contour seats. Never liked them in the Contour, but in the El Camino they rock. Try them out sometime if you find a low-mileage example somewhere.

My dad said that the local Ford dealer had them for sale (ones that had been removed) for a long time. They were expensive though. The set in my borthers car is mint, mint mint. They are almost too nice for the car. They came with one of our parts cars we had.

Thanks man. I posted it for anyone else who wants to see the last cruise. I have vids from when it was running better, just click the link in my sig, if you have not done so already. The car needs a complete tune-up and also new valvesprings, carb rebuild and tune, another new fuel pump, and some distributor tweaking. Sadly, I have new cam/lifters/timing chain/gaskets ready to go, but need to get the car on the road legally.

Yes guys, you're right on that. my particular ride had an auxiliary dome light between the visors and a gun rack of some sort attached to the decklid. Other than that, no holes drilled in roof, in trunk, or on decklid. All I know is it was government owned and driven about 80k miles in two years before being sold to a nice lady and her husband, both RN's. It became mine in '96 sometime.
