I can't find the correct hose, so Gates Unicoil it is.
No, when I went to pepboys for them they wanted more than the hoses were worth. So I said screw that.

Damn that decklid is clean..................and smooth too! I have to think of a solution for my mom's decklid as the bottom edge is rotted. I might try to cut the rot off and get my father to weld some thin sheet metal to the place that I cut out.

Mine's got some on the bottom, right in front of the latch on the decklid, but it hasn't rotted yet.

It's worth it because they are reusable, after you have ran the hose for around 4-500mi, the heat will have permanently molded it into the shape, and the Unicoil can be removed and used again next time.

You should have seen the immaculate 87 it came off of in the junkyard, made me really sad that car was junked when there was nothing wrong with it, that I could see anyway.

I would go ahead and patch that rot, It's better to keep all your panels original if you can.

            Bodypart Acquisition is finally complete!

Here she is, with every Nice Bodypart she needed finally installed.

Had the day off today, so I had my best friend Dale come over to help me with installing the decklid, he has helped me do this a few times before, so he knows the process.

After a little Adjustment and modification, the Decklid Fits like a Glove, and closes perfectly (No Slamming). Still need to do alot of bodywork to the outside of it to get it ready for paint, but that will come next.

Also installed a DS Taillamp housing from an '79 LTD Landau, because it fit the Flatness of the DS QP much better than the stock one did, and is also a little thicker and better quality.

As well, I went ahead and installed my set of damn near NOS 79-82 Taillamp Lenses, I found on eBay, thanks to Pete (85crownhpp) for posting the link. They are teh Mintness, incredible for a set of 29yr old lenses, had to have been a garaged car they came from.

I'm VERY happy I've finally acquired all the body parts I needed, and can finally move on fully to getting the body ready for paint.

The top is still in immaculate condition because the car was garaged for most of its life. I'm gonna re-dye it again after the paintjob is complete though.

During primer and paint, I will be removing the vinyl top Trim pieces, and pulling the edges of the vinyl back were it meets the Quarterpanels/Roof to eliminate any visible seams were the new paint would meet the old. The vinyl will be held back with string attached to weights sitting on the roof.

When it finally does crack, it will be getting replaced with Black Textured/Padded vinyl, and I will probibly have it enclose the Rear Window a little more to make it slightly smaller.

Out of curiosity, does your rear bumper sag on the driver's side? I'm wondering if that's normal cause mine sags on the driver's side.

Mine doesn't anymore, it just looks like it in the pic because my driveway parking space is seriously unlevel. I really wish I had the $$$ to have some gravel put down and level it out. The car sits perfectly level on pavement.

I have the sedan cargo coils installed in the rear now, but back when my springs were still stock it did sag a little more on the drivers side. When I removed the original rear coils and put them side by side, the DS was about an 1/2 shorter than the PS, so if your rear springs are still stock this is probibly the cause of the uneven sag.

That project is really looking up. I like the '79 tailights on your '87; I have been wanting to do the same with my mom's car; I just have to get off my lazy bum and get to PA where there are still some old cars left.

Yea, those 79-82 LTD Tails really make the look of the rear end IMO. They pop up on the Bay from time to time, if your ever looking for any.

I also found a Nice set of the correct model Ford turbine center caps last week, they should be here soon. No more beat-up Lincoln caps for me.

                              My CAI Thread

Gotta find a replacement that I can mount remotely. I was thinking inside the lower fender well, like how the evap can is mounted on the PS. Just gotta extend the wiring, and run new washer fluid line. I don't like the 90 TC washer reservoir because I would have to relocate the IC to the DS fender liner, and would rather have one that can be mounted out of sight.

Gloss Black w/ Light Metal Flake.

May go Metallic, but am not gonna decide until I get to see both on an actual color palate.

Was gonna go with Deep Wedgewood Blue, but theres just Something about a Gloss Black Car with alot of chrome. Mafia Ride
