What tool did you use to cut the seal on the windshield? I've seen a fairly cheap tool down at Hedahls, but I figured it would take a lot of arm power to get that little thing to work.

I used one of these, on the top and two sides, than on the bottom a long thin knife.

worked easier than i thought it would..

now i get to try it on the rear window too, cuz some one made it look like privacy glass.

Well I did some spring swappin today. Took the spring from the rear of the parts car, and put them in my car. I have no idea what spring rate they are, but they are a higher rate than was in there. The parts car had a hitch on the back of it at one point. So I'm guessin someone swapped the stockers long ago.
Here is a pic. The rusty tall springs came out of my 83, the shorter, possibly variable rate springs came out of the parts. (They are upside down in the pic)

The ride Height stayed about the same.

I went on a 400 or so mile trip this weekend, and i noticed the car used some oil, about 2 quarts of oil to be exact.. But it seems to be leaking it all.. So much so that the mud flaps have speckles on them, there is also oil hanging from the tail pipes! most of it seems to be coming fron the valve covers.. also the front seal on the trans leaks.. so this weekend i might pull the trans, put a shift kit in it and replace some gaskets on it.. not really lookin forward to it bu o well

Not that I could see. I don't think the pipes got hot enough, cuz there is even iol on the header colectors. 26 year old gaskets don't seal very vell. Lol

i was thinking about getting a paint job like yours, except only where yours is red mine would be black, and id turn the white to more of a gray/cream color, with a red stripe bordering the two colors, what you think.

That would prob look good, maybe a silver instead of cream though.

I upgraded my headlights today, i was swappin grills with the 86, and figured hey, my low beams suck big time, so i grabbed the low beams and part of the wires out of the parts car, just pop the two wires out of the plug for the high beam light, put them in the low beam plug off the old car, and splice one wire in on each side. than install the lights, so now i have all 4 headlights for low and high beam. I'm hoping it helps me see better at night. now i have to wait tell dark to see how it worked....
high beam. this is what everyones looks like. lol

                        here is my low beam.

Maybe an evening shot would make the difference easier to see, personally it's hard for me to tell but that's a really cool and creative update. You're one of the guys who I look to and think "what's he gonna come up with next?" Keep up the good work!

Well I got the trans pulled fixed up and put back in. Here is my fancy, expensive tranny jack. Lol

Here is what I found when I pulled the pan. Looks brand new, just like it came out of the bottle. Lol that's what 122,000 miles look like.

First time I have seen that, so I shaved down the bolt heads that hold the flex plate on.

And there it is before I put in the shift kit.

It doesn't shift any harder, but it does shift a lot quicker. I have the TV rod set at the max setting possible. When I get up to 70 Mph I can get the cruise set, than it will shift into OD. It also turned out the front seal wasn't leaking. It was the drain plug for the convertor. O well I replaced the input seal anyways cuz I had it out.
