1 to be stock height. (Ok its 3 inches over the lift limit)
2 to have mud flaps (not actually a law up here)
3 to have the stock engine ( again not a law)
4 to have a smog pump (also not a law until like 93)
5 To have manifolds and not headers. (??)

Also nice score with the touring sedan!

I had the appraisal done on Thursday AM before work by Kelly's Appraisal Service. I picked up the paperwork today. The CV was appraised at $1100. The DMV will tax me on this total when I go to get the car transferred & registered into my name.

he got done what we call a "government sales appraisal". depending on the year of vehicle, it may not have any value and the MTO dont want to charge tax based on the bill of sale cause people usally lie about the purchase price. so the make you take the car to someone for $50CAN to tell yo that the car you paid $500 for is(in ones opinion) worth $2500 and you pay the tax on that amount. its a complete scam if you ask me. the guy i deal with is pretty good. he will take in consideration what i paid and the age of the vehicle. he appraised GMGT at $200 and i paid taxed based on that lol. the insurance appracials are doubled and then again can be a scam. i know of some people who will bump up the value for you if your trying to sell the vehicle or want to commit some sort of fraud.

You gotta get them appraised by someone there? I know we have the option of doing that, but most folks just have the previous owner put down that they sold the car for $50 or something like that.

Cost me $129 +13% GST (Canadian tax) and only a licensed appraiser can do this. They have to renew their license each year. The DMV's rule in NB: All cars 1996 and older require an appraisal (for tax purposes) before a new owner gets the title transferred into their name. An appraisal is also recommended for people that are planning to sell their classic vehicle, so they can get an accurate market value.

Like marquisman said, people can and will lie about what price was paid on the bill of sale.

                  up-date

I went to the DMV today after work and got everything taken care of. The CV's title is now in my name with a fresh registration! I won't be driving the GM as much now.

I'm not sure of the actual cost of the glass but Speedy quoted me $294 +13% GST. The total comes to $332.53 installed. Labour is over 2 hours for this job.

If you do not have the orignal owners manual contact ford and get the door combo to unlock your doors.
