id have some custom matching magnetic curb feelers too, just for kicks. (seriously)

i dont know why i like this '79 so much, maybe because its a first year panther?

someday id like to have a box for each production year, and if i have enough room/money id get a waggin for each year too.

Nice that the wheel isn't cracked all to heck like mine was.

That video makes me miss my rusted-way-beyond-repair POS '79 Country Squire. Didn't like letting that go.

I am now working on restoring the engine bay. So far I have pulled the engine wire harness and really cleaned it up. (retaped it all, got rid of un-needed wires etc) Now i just need to pick up some new wire looming since the old stuff was pretty ratty looking. After that the harness can be put away somewhere till its ready to go back in.
Inner fenders, outer heater box, wiper trans, etc... will be removed and will be painting the fire wall engine frame and insides of fenders. Also going to spruce up the engine a little. Have a set of E7's lined up with mark 7 headers. Looking for a 4bbl intake. also thinking about useing the HO cam but not sure if a rollor cam will work in the 79 block, but I will do some reading in the tech section.... Also thinking a set of flowmasters are in order.
As far as paint, im going to leave it flat back. really growing on me..
Anyways pics of progress to come within the next few days

Good choice on keeping the flat black. It just looks too bad ass.

Ok here are some more updated pics.
So far got the inner fenders out, rad, all hoses, vac lines ect... All un-needed vac lines will be removed. There was a mess of them on this engine.
I also have a set of mark 7 headers for it. going to get E7 heads and a decent cam, and a 4 bbl intake

Put my custom headlight bezels on a month or so ago, Some of you might remember them from my bright red '84 merc

You're a tougher man than I to be doing resto work in the cold.

                            Keep us posted.

What's the intake, carb, and cam combo going to be?

I havent decided yet, I would like to go holley with the carb, for intake I would be happy with even a factory 4 bbl, just stuck on what kind of cam I want..
