Summer can't come fast enough. I got projects I want to finish too; plus I want to see where your project goes as well. Lotsa anticipation.

Thanks guys, good to know that a few people besides me care about the project, lol.

All my friends around here love my Lincoln, but are a little indifferent to the LTD. They don't really see the point in building a car like this into a sleeper. That's ok though, not everyone has to understand. To me this car will be a perfect sleeper, and the goal is to keep everything clean and simple, bare bones, Hotrod style. NO luxury, No entertainment, No amenities, just pure driving experience. The Exhaust shall be my stereo.

I have alot of plans brewing right now for this car, the continuation of el-stripification of course, 03+ frame swap, Twin Turbo 351w build, etc...but coming up next will be a cheap Holley 4bbl/Intake Swap, so that I can at least drive the car around and do burnouts, without it randomly dying on me and not wanting to start again. VV = Pure Crap.

Like most people, they haven't owned anything fast enough to race. Then if they have something that is kinda fast (newer Mustang or Camaro), they won't drive it like they should. The people who do drive their cars like they should, want it flashy. If you're into this hobby, you know the satisfaction of sneaking up to somebody and stealing their lunch money; so-to-speak. Getting your ass kicked by a sup'd up Chevette, early to mid '70s Dart, or in your case, an '80s luxury car is salt in the wound. They won't understand until they feel the sting. I have come to like the idea of having working amenities/luxuries in a car that can kinda move. I'm hoping that I can do that with my mom's CV.

The frame swap would be sweet! Get the rack-n-pinion and the revised suspension. I guess you would start with a P71?

                    Well said.

I too like the idea of a fully loaded LSC (Luxury Sport Coupe), or in your case LSS (Luxury Sport Sedan) that can run like the wind as well, that is what I have my Lincoln MKVI for. The point of this car though is to build a stripped down hot-rod, out of a car that was never meant to be one. Using as few electronics as possible. I want the car to be able to survive a EMP blast, and still be able to run and drive. I'm talking that stripped down of electronics.

Yea, that is the plan. Provided that I can find one that has never been wrecked for under $5K, not paying anymore than that. I do want the R&P setup those cars have as well. I use to not like R&P, but now I have a whole new respect for Rack and Pinion steering systems after upgrading the piece in my T-bird. Talk about turning on a dime!

Was just joking about the EMP thing, the ignition setup will of course be all electronic, and it will have a regular 3G Alternator. I want to limit the electronics on the car to just those 2 things though. It already has the base model 2 speed wipers.

I probably will strip out all the unneeded stock wiring from the car, when I remove the dash, and just roll my own wiring harness for everything that I need.

This is going to be pretty neat. Or did I say that already?

I keep pondering those Painless hotrod wiring kits from time to time. Seems like a tempting (if pricy!) way to really neaten things up.

Thanks to all who voted for it and made this beast POTM. It didn't really deserve it yet in it's current state, as not much has been done to it beyond repairing the small amount of rust that it had, and replacing the Hood and Trunklid, but thanks none the less.

Honestly, I'm thinking about shelving this thing in a climate controlled storage unit, until the year 2030, and then bringing it back out as an antique in the future, for the full-resto. It doesn't have much cool or classic appeal right now, but in 18 more years, it will have gained much more, and be much more worthy of my time than what it is now. I've fixed all the major rust areas on the car, so I won't have to worry about it wasting away in the meantime.

Why?, you ask... There is a certain southern lived '67 Lincoln Continental Convertible that is sitting behind our shop, and has been calling my name to rescue it for quite some time, I can no longer resist the call... It will be sitting in my driveway by this sunday.

I certainly hope there will be a thread on this!!! Great car. The tops are finicky but I'm sure there is plenty of documentation to help out.
