Had to lend this car to my brother. I think the wiring is re-burning itself up/out. So no using the radio, etc. I gotta get the back seat out of it (borrow neighbor's breaker bar). I may as well pull out the headliner and redo the interior & opera light wiring while I'm at it.

I've had the window motors all done, and the power antenna replaced, so getting the wiring done right is gonna be my summer project. Maybe I'll get the A/C converted if I can afford it after the other car is done.

I still gotta get Tatiana''s vinyl redone, minor rust repair, & top painted. Then I'll start thinking up some ideas to see if I want to modify this car.

replace the ignition switch if you haven't yet. It causes all sorts of demons.

It's developing a miss now at low to medium speeds on accel. I really hope the burning wiring isn't killing the (new) fuel pump.

Gotta hook up with my neighbor soon when he's back off the road from driving truck to get the back seat out to replace the wiring the mechanic couldn't get to.

I'm at 87,060 or so now. Dunno if it's worth saving the motor since the tranny has been acting up too. For awhile there it was refusing to shift to second until warmed up. Dunno if it was a partially clogged valve body or something but it's sorted itself out somewhat. I can deal with the 'only drive in D' & 14-16 mpg as my commute is 2 mi.

Currently keeping track of parts locally for crazy ideas. There's a Mark VIII tranny locally for $150 with a claimed 91k. There's a SVT Eaton m112 supercharger for $700 for a 4.6, and various odds and ends that I could pick up and store for later use.

Sorry I didn't see this post until now, the purple rims are painted, they came that way & that color. This thread is for my blue car, which is a '91 LS.

Updates in next post if the effing hotel wireless lets me post pic(s)

car needs all previous issues addressed, and an alignment, hit 87k awhile back, on the way to 88k eventually. Idle is wonky, surges & was stalling all the time. Apparently the pcv line was unplugged and the screen was completely missing, so it smoked. Now a lot better, it hasn't stalled once since my mechanic took care of those. But it does knock, and my mechanic did replace the IAC but said it made no difference, so it could be the TPS, but he didn't unhook the battery & swapped the old IAC back on (don't you have to do this so it learns with the new iac?). Anyway, motor junk, tranny junk big time, may be time for a transplant in the future sometime.

See the burnt wiring that was under the headliner cardboard and the current state of the vehicle in my other thread: http://www.grandmarq.net/vb/showthre...GM-LS-Part-Out

The headgasket is making milkshakes, the transmission is toast, the wiring is burnt, car has no future but a parts donor
