    New Daily Driver

Here's my new daily driver. I drove a 2000 X-Terra for the past 4 years in the winter and my F-150 for most of the summer but the X-Terra is in need of too much work and the F-150 needs to keep a low mileage so I bought the best of all worlds!

This is the best compromise between power, fuel economy, space and road handling. It's not as comfy as my old '86 I owned about 10 years ago but way more efficient than the 351 cu. in. with the damn variable venturi 2bbl. It's fully stock except for the wheels and brakes. It's got leather heated seats, A/C and that awful digital dash which is akwardly growing on me. Engine mods are definitly in its future.

The wheels are off a 2011 Mustang GT. I got 'em for $1200 brand spanking new cuz the guy installed 20 inchers at the dealer. They ride smooth and really helped cornering. I wanted HPP or 17" gray bullits but it would have cost me $400 more for used rims and new tires... I don't regret my choice.

Thanks. I wasn't sure of the 18's at first but it turned out nicely. Yours is pretty sleek too. Red GM are pretty rare for what I know.

                  @ Pete

Nice ride you've got there! It's my car's older brother, I even have the coil spring conversion too. I read most of your tread and I'm glad I'm not the only one who was surprised with the handling and sharpness of the steering. I couldn't even hold it straight for the first weeks on the highway. I owned an '86 Police Pack GM with the 351 cu.in. and it was way more bloated and blurry on the road. I was a bit deceived with the harshness of the ride at first but the handling gain makes up for it. BTW there is supposed to be a plastic cover on that engine with the V8 logo on it.

Welcome! Once you go Digital you never go back!

I've seen upwards of 30-32+ mpg average with my '99. Fill her up. Get on the highway, set the cruise at 60-65, and try not to hit the brakes unless you have to.

I have to agree with you here.

I purchased my bullits for 300. I quickly roasted the tires (in a video on this site. ) and then spent another 500 for tires and balancing and disposing the old ones. And my wheels were not mint condition like your are.

Thanks. Yeah I know the Hyundai swears in my driveway, it's my wife's ride and we just sold it today. I tried to give her my X-Terra but she likes small cars so I'm trying to find her a clean 4 door import.
