as requested by GMGT... here is Charlette... my 1977 Ford LTD whos been in the family since September 12, 1996.
she started her life with my family as a trade in at a ford lot in Hicksville, Ohio. my dad was in need of a daily driver for work. and he picked her up for $425. shes got the bare minimum of everything.
since we've owned her dad replaced the shocks all around and the exhaust shortly after he bought her. bought a rebuild kit for the carb patched a brake line somewhere in there and thats it.
it would be driven for a year or so.. then sat for 3. on and off like that since we've owned it.. debating to sell or scrap it.. i insisted on not.
around 2009, dad says, "you fix the brakes, and you can use it to learn how to drive... you learn in a big car then you can drive anything"... once i fixed the brakes.. my first real bonding experience with a car.. i knew i wanted it for my own. dad thought i was crazy. but i insisted i wanted this sled as my own. there was a fair amount of rust... not bad.. but enough to keep me busy, and of course walking in my fathers shoes i HAD to have a stereo.
