Holy shit! P heads for everything from now on! The engine springs to life and pulls for what feels like for fucking ever. I need a 140 speedometer and see how fast this bitch is actually going. There will be a video possibly sometime tomorrow or Thursday.
I'll put P heads on my Mark VII if you can make sure it doesn't run stupid enough to force a MAF swap. I'm not doing it on that. You know where the ECM lives on those things.

If you want to contribute to the put P heads on my 92 mark vii fund sure.
even with the old engine setup that car would do great ricer rolls. once you get some 3.55 gears in there you'll be having too much fund with it. You'll need a 21 tooth speedo gear for the trans with the 3.55 if it's an 8-tooth output shaft.
You replaced the old Thomas the Tank starter. I miss the "i think I can, I think I can" struggle to roll the motor over.
Does that still have mismatched mufflers on it ?
Also, vacuum your floor.
Sounds good tho. I don't remember it having amazing throttle response before, but it always went OK. Were the old heads damaged or worn in any way? I wouldn't be half surprised if the exhaust valves and seats had a fair bit of abuse going on. They were as-found as far as I'm aware.
