    Between the two, I prefer the Marquis one, mostly for the silver face finish and “proportional” speedometer needle. However all the additional lenses on the ‘79-‘87 type do make for a dust nightmare if you want to clean them, and potential for humidity fogging.

    The LTD cluster is plenty fine, just feels a little basic.

      IMO the Mercury cluster is nice looking, but visibility at night isn't great, especially the smaller KM readings. The later box Mercs gauges seem like they'd be easier to read, but they look like ass, including the 90-91 wide white one. I've driven an '84 Squire with a KM-only cluster, which was very readable but it is indeed very plain.
      I'd love a KM-only gauge face for my Merc, but I've never seen one.

      LTC digidash is pretty easy to read too
