1989 Ford Crown Vic Vinyl top (Landau): best maintenance?

My crown Vic has a vinyl top, in best condition. How can I service it safely for it to stay as new?

Yeah, Blaze is an excellent resource for info on these cars. He's got a lot of knowledge with the experience to back it up.

You can always use baby oil, lol, but it seems to attract ALOT of bugs, hahaha...

          Keeps it soft though!!

Yea... my uncle showed me that one, lol.

I'll stick with my armor-all, it works good enough for me, lol.

Vinyl shops will not mess with the vinyl once you have use armor-all on it. Armor-all actually does more long term harm than good.

Armor All will suck the moisture right out of the top. Its really not very good. Use it on the dash, and then stop for a bit, and it cracks. Also fogs up the windows with whatever nasty chemical that it evaporates into. Not good stuff at all.

I used baby oil here for a year and it kept the top in perfect condition. Then I tried Mothers Protectant (it smelled good) and the top cracked all to hell in about two months!

you silly people and your anti-vinyl top ways. Learn to love your vinyl. That said, I shall now go listen to some Neil Young on vinyl.

So really I should have stuck with the baby oil huh, lol. I'll keep that in mind. Especially since my new vinyl isn't even a year old yet.

And where can you pick up 303 at?

                              Just avoid products containing silicone...

I found out the hard way

Try when washing your car, a soft bristle brush with some soap and water for the top. Or even a vinyl cleaner. Pay extra attention to the top and treat it nice
