What is the condition of the felts in the door the door pannel and the window tracks. Also there are bushings in the window mountig piece that keep it centered on a rod inside the door. The only bushings I have been able to find are used ones. I harvest them if they look good from a doner car.

I think the two doors have a belt across the glass to keep it from doing that. Pull the door panel and check that, and the felts in the window channels. When they wear, the windows rattle and stuff.

Do you think I can just get felts from any old car and staple them on inside of the door panels like Ford did. Ours are just straight and now special curves or anything. Some from a different car may be a little taller but that shouldn't matter right?

Mine are cracked in some spots. On front passenger and driver.

Go to JC Whitney on line they have new replacements.. and are improved from what is on our cars... the entire piece is now encased in rubber, to keep the metal part from rusting, and the rubber felts have alot more silicone in them, so they last longer. As soon as I get time, I am doing all of mine on the 84... mine are toast.... then I will do the 91... when I put the new doors on the car, and get it repainted... (Thanks for all of the scratches and shit, Hurricane Ivan!)

Here is the link to their site, with the page for the weatherstrips...

"U" channel window felts... for around the inside of the window opening, where the glass rides... I did the 84's, and it took care of the window rattles!
