    Keyless Entry

is it possible to hook up one of those Remote Keyless entry kits to a Box like mine?
just curious...kinda toying with the idea right now.
    and...
could it also unlock my trunk as well? I cant see why not, as I recall, there's an "option" button on there.
    yes? no?

Whoops...I meant to put this in the Electrical section...oh, well.

If you have power door locks, you can add an aftermarket keyless entry system. If you get one with aux channels, you should be able to add a trunk option as well. You can also add other options, like remote start, and operate power windows remotely, too.

I have a Viper Keyless Entry System.

Right button unlocks, Left button locks, if I hold the right button for three seconds, the trunk opens, when I press both buttons the car turns on/off.

      Definitely possible.

I need to get mine looked at...There's something wrong with it, but it's great when it works.

I"m getting one installed on my car in week or so, my headunit was stolen out of my car a few weeks back and I'm not putting a new one in until' I have an alarm. Getting a viper from the local tint shop for $179. Keyless entry autostart and truck realease.

Maybe it'd be possible to rig up something with a solenoid to pump the gas a couple times before starting it so you could use remote start with a carb...I've thought about it.

            Where there's a will, there's a way, right?

A friend has a remote starter on his carbed truck, but we don't have to deal with low temps around here. You may could get away with it on a carbed car, I'm not sure. The only thing I know they don't work on is anything with a manual tranny.

Well, the issue would be to operate the accelerator pump first so it'll actually have some gas to burn so it can start.

Some carbs are set up so nice you don't need to pump it. The chevelle would fire up right now.

Most carbed engines just need one pump to set the choke (not for fuel)

I don't know if anyone else has this. But on my mother's 1994 Vic, if you hold down the unlock button on the remote, it will unlock the trunk.

Anyway, I was thinking of putting in a keyless entry system in the car. What do I have to do to put this in?
