    Moisture guard

Does anyone have suggestions for a replacement "moisture guard" such as the one show below.

I was working on the power lock actuator, this time.

I made a new one for my car as the original one on my drivers side door was in pretty bad shape. I used some thick paper bag like paper and laminated it. I also laminated the original p. side one I had. Still waiting to install it. Door panels have been off the car for over a year.

Mine was made of a thick clear plastic. Take that one and lay it on some tag board and make a template, then cut that out of some clear vinyl chair mats you can get at staples/home depot without the nubbies. That would save you laminating it. Although The laminating would work perfectly fine as well. Just my 2% of a dollar bill.

Thick plastic is probably going to be easiest to find. Paper tarred on one side has been used in the past as well. Take a walk through home depot/whatever and look at what they have for water proofing films, house wraps, insulating materials, you'll find something that will work. And grab some weatherstripping (looks like kids modeling clay) material that is packaged in strips. Stick that along the top and sides to hold the barrier in place.

Contractor's trash bags should work just fine. They're thick, use one side, cut to shape, cut for holes and you're good to go. 1 bag should do 2 doors (4 door car) Not sure about the 2 doors though. maybe if you cut it on the sides and did it that way.

or you could always go to Home Depot or some such and get a roll of vapor barrier (if it's not wide enough to cover the whole door in one pass, just use 2 passes). Of course... trash bags are probably cheaper.

You would have to cut the dynamat off all of the time to get to the innards of the door. This other stuff is easily removable when need be,
