    sound deadener in the trunk?

Looking to install sound deadener in the trunk of the '88 GM. Loud exhaust is really coming through the trunk and back seat. Sounds like a big tin can.

Will probably go with something like Peel-n-Seal for material. Any tips on how to do it properly? Any areas NOT to apply material to? All relevant info is appreciated.

If peel'n'seal is anywhere near as stiff as the pricey sound deadener, get a roller like this:

They're very useful for getting the stuff to conform to all the nooks and crannies.
I'd put on super-thick undercoating on the underside of the trunk if you haven't already, as it's easier to stop sound waves before they've hit the underside of the trunk than damp them once they've already made contact.

Do lots of research on the science of sound deadening, it's interesting and can save you A LOT of money vs. just laying stuff over every metal surface. If you're having issues with a resonance at certain RPM's or speeds, there are products out there that are extremely high-density and are meant to go just in the middle of a panel, covering maybe 1/10 of the actual surface area. They do a great job of getting rid of specific annoying vibrations or moans that may still be there (albeit muffled) after you spend the weekend coating the inside of your car with the sheet stuff.

Thanks for the info. Btw, I just got my roller from Eastwood, yesterday.
