    got rid of 6x9s for 8"speakers

    oooo... now there's a good idea. *ponders Lincoln mods since it gets speakers next*

      I dont think the wagons even got a 6x9. The ones on yucatech's 89 are like a 6x8 or something. 6x9's that we had on hand did not mate up to the grille.

        nah... ford just used an odd screw hole spacing for their factory 6x9s. I don't think they started using 6x8s until the aero bodies and those, just in the doors.

          dunno mang, I tried to swap them for Ford 6x9 speakers and they no fit. The factory 6x9 was longer.

                odd. buddy of mine way back had a colony park and had 6x9s in the rear. maybe he "made" them fit.

                          i took the 5X7's in my 01' and tossed em for 6X9's was not too bad to get them in.

                              Wagon rear is 6x8. I've done this and they fit under the grille.
