Anatomy of a split bench seat - how to make 4-door seats fold forward?

I'm quite certain someone had made some comments at one time about how to take split bench seats from a 4-door car and make them fold forward so they can be conveniently used in a 2-door. It's been at least two or three years since I recall seeing the reference, though, and I've been unable to refresh my memory on who made it.

I took a quick look at an old 4-door split bench in my possession, and while I'm not ambitious enough at the moment to actually remove the upholstery, I noticed that a visible part of the recline mechanism is held in place with obvious aluminum rivets. I don't suppose one of those is the bit that's removed to make the seat fold?

the forward stop tab in the mechanism that leans the seat back needs to be removed IIRC.

"Tab" is the word I remember being discussed as well. Presumably this is something different than the rivet I was goggling. Maybe I'll have to remove at least some of the upholstery after all.
