What are you looking to pay for one?

I found a good dash pad on an '85 Town Car, but the speaker grilles are beginning to disintegrate. At that point, would the dash pad be worth anything?

you can technically refinish the dash pad... even a cracked to hell one, but that much epoxy and body filler and paint is a PITA.

yeah, me and epoxy don't mix...lol saw what i did there

anyway, I don't know how much these are worthm but I def would be like to get one, I don't even care what color

I think even with the grill falling apart, I could still use it (just put a speaker grill in it)

As for paying for one, I don't know. At this point (since I don't know the dashboard market that well), could be within reason

            Dear Panthers,
I replaced one cracked dash with another which subsequently cracked. I don't worry much about it. When I get time I'll buy a small flitch of dyed leather and glue it atop the cracked vinyl.

they still sell the plastic caps on JCWhitney. Coverlay brand and in various colors. $129.08 before shipping.

if I EVER make the 88 nice again inside... I will get me one.

Go to Coverlaymfg.com. It will walk you through the selection process. Once you have the part number, JC Whitney has the best price, especially if you use a discount code.

My 89 TLC has the blue Coverlay dash cap on it.
It is not noticeable at all. The color is too close to even mess with. Fits snug enough to just place it there without glue. Many have commented on how well the pad has held up. Surprises the few that see me lift it off.

So this dashboard overlay stuff is good?

Did anyone have problems with them?????

On my old dash, it is cracked and sticks up. I wonder if the old dashboard parts that stick up make the overlay come up

I'd just sand down the parts that stick up. the old dash pad is damaged anyhow, might as well smooth it out.
